Day #124: Isolation Finished Completely & Electrissity Work Starts

Perjantaina 22. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

terve, finally the isolation work is completely done now. due to some extra work after daily work in company the roof is closed now. this morning i needed to show up on the site as the electrician started working. therefore it had been necessary to install also the 45×45 mm battens below the ceiling battens. this needs to be done to reduce the ceiling height so that halogen spots will still fit it.

Day #119: Roof Isolation & Steam Shelter Proceeds

Perjantaina 22. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

moi, i was busy working on sunday finalizing the roof isolation. i also installed some more OSB-plates in the bathroom. last job was putting the tape on all the interfaces of the steam shelter. this is a bid tricky as it is difficult to keep the steam shelter proper in place. it’s also really a pain to fix steam shelter at all the smaller corners the wooden pillars create.

Day #118: Roof Isolation Proceeds

Lauantaina 16. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

terve, next had been putting steam shelter and isolation to roof of hobby room. first it had been calm, but during midday it became quite windy which didn’t make it fun to work on east side of house in the aired roof. quickly hobby room became finished, next had been entrance area. unfortunately we had to stop within the technic room because for some reason the internal walls there had a strange height. so i proceeded in sauna. there had been some isolation work necessary on top of windows as there had been some few centimeters not yet isolated. however, by the end of the day the sauna had also been finished. next was installation of osb-plates in bathroom, to ensure safe working. this is half finished now. enjoy the pics.

Lauantaina 16. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

Sunnuntaina 10. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

terve. the isolation and steam shelter in living and kids room have been finished. due to the standardization of all the cut work the working process is quite smooth. immediately the room temparature raised until the living room had been closed. todays weather had also been better as it wasn’t that windy. however: new snow arrived. ;-)

Day #111: Roof Isolation Living Room

Lauantaina 9. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

terve, the pic shows you a small part of the pre-cut isolation. i started early this morning and… yes… we had lots of snow and it was very windy. i would say we had almost 40 cm snow and due to the wind any moved snow had been back almost 30 minutes later with the same dimensions. by the end of the day the living room had been almost completely finished. a tricky element had been the chimnex exhaust… but after some adjustments of the steam shelter this also worked perfectly. greetings also to our visitors who brought us some fresh coffee during late afternoon.

Day #110: Economies Of Scale

Perjantaina 8. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

Day #105: Steam Shelter Work & Isolation Living Room

Tiistaina 5. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

terve, i’m late with my entry… here you can see that i’ve already started work in living room. please note the amount of snow: this is quite unusual for our area and almost a finnish environment. also checkout the collapsed tree in the background on one of the pics.

Day #104: Steam Shelter Work & Isolation

Lauantaina 2. tammikuuta 2010 · Marius

moi, i continued working on the steam shelter in the sleeping room and bath room up to the purlin. if you think isolation work sucks, then i’ve got something which is even better: fiddling with the steam shelter. this thing is voluntary masochism. luckily the isolation can be cut in a default size now: 90 cm width works fine. we’ll need 100 mm plus 200 mm. for the steam shelter i’m using a product from a company called SUPERGLASS. it is quite difficult to install the steam shelter w/o an octopus. i used two ladders to keep the 22×100 batten in place so that i could shoot them with the nailing gun to the roof framework. please also note that winter finally completely arrived here. we had about 20 to 30 cm snow on the site. the photo had been taken from the terrassi during afternoon.
